Privacy Policy
Your personal information is collected to provide the services you have requested.
Your counsellor is the data controller and registered with the Information Commissioner's Office.
Your name, telephone number and email address are used to contact you to arrange appointments. Your address, GP and emergency contact details are also held. Telephone numbers and emails may also be stored on smart phones.
Brief notes from our initial telephone conversation will be stored securely for 12 months if an appointment is not taken up.
Client contact details stored electronically will be deleted once sessions have ended.
Client notes are given a code to provide anonymity and are stored securely.
Client information and notes from counselling sessions will be stored for 7 years after our last session together.
Client work may be discussed with a supervisor in line with ethical guidelines, keeping client's anonymity.
Your client notes are confidential and will not be shared with anyone else unless you give permission to do so or I have a legal obligation to do so.
You have the right to see any information held about you. To request this, please email karenwinterflood-counselling@proton.me. Once provided, the client becomes responsible for the privacy of the notes.
